Yestarday I made emergency DPF cleaning with VAG. But today, after 1.000 km from the first incident the same happens again. Here is the log from VAG: Address 01: Engine Labels: Redir Fail! Part No SW: 7L0 907 401 D HW: 7L0 907 401 D. Component: 3.0L V6TDI G000AG 0030. Revision: --H05--- Serial number: VWX3Z0H4815433.
The consensus gathered here and elsewhere, including official VW documentation which is posted in various places, from R5 and V10 owners and others is as per Touareg MNE stated: R5 and V10 with DPF use 507.00. R5 and V10 without DPF, ONLY use 505.01 or 506.01. I would add: be warned - even some VW dealers get it wrong!
Feb 26, 2012. #5. As mentioned above, you can tell when a regen is in progress by listening for fans running (with AC off), or by the increased idle speed. It has also been reported that you can also tell if you happen to be watching your instantaneous fuel consumption (mileage) in the MFD.
Skoda Octavia / VW Golf - VAG 1.9 PD engines and no DPF. I am trying to find a reliable diesel engined car of the most recent registration that does not have a DPF. I have read extensively throughout many forums that the VAG 1.9PD engine (particularly the 130HP version) was the best in terms of frugality and reliability.
For $850 in parts and $375.00 in labor I now have a 2013 Golf TDI DPF /CAT/ EGR Filter and exaust flap in my 2010 Jetta. Considering the price of the components I feel I did well plus I am legit for inspection or resale. I however am unfamiliar with the EGC and "New Software".
Increased risk of engine damage: Without the DPF filter, diesel engines can accumulate soot and particulates on engine components, leading to excessive wear and potential engine problems. This can result in higher maintenance costs and expensive repairs. Warranty voidance: DPF deletion will invalidate your vehicle's warranty.
VW DPF Regen info I attached the link to a pdf file. This came from VW and is part of the Engine Management System dealing with Regenerations / DPF issues. No where does it talk about Oil Ash Volume, only Soot Load. I've asked my dealer contact to try and dig a little deeper to see if there is any literature that specifically mentions "oil ash".
Nov 27, 2009. #11. Another possible option might be to install a "plug" in the bottom of the DPF. DPFs get clogged by ash (what cannot be burned in the regenerations). Ash tends to gather in the bottom of the DPF. When it gets full enough it blocks off the "exit" to the rest of the system.
does my vw have a dpf
I have a Passat Estate diesel and have read your comments regarding the problems of the DPF. On a couple of occasions recently the engine fan has continued to run after a short journey. Since then I have completed a number of long journeys at the end of which the fan was not running. Would the fan running after the short journeys be anything to do with the DPF?
If you have a 2012, 2013, or 2014 Passat 2.0L TDI and got the approved emissions modification, Volkswagen has identified a potential problem with the “fix” it installed on your car that needs your immediate attention. If you have one of those vehicles but haven’t gotten the modification, you must make an important decision very soon.

This can happen sooner or later depending on driving pattern. Absolutely no point in renewing before having to. or just get rid, the filter that is.

oilhammer said: Power gains come from retuning the engine controller to make the engine more powerful, emissions components or not. what he said. Repeat after me: Diesel is a fuel throttle. there may be a net fuel economy loss, because the ecu flips over to a different set of maps that are inherently less effficient.

DPF - Diesel Particulate Filter fills up with carbon and must periodically be "regenerated".This involves injecting extra Diesel fuel into the exhaust system to turn the DPF into a mini crematorium that oxidizes the trapped carbon particles into CO2 and expels it into the atmosphere.
If your car requires an oil with a low ash content, that can also signify that it has a DPF. All VW Group 1.6-litre diesels produced before 2009 have a DPF, including any Skoda Greenline
Shell Rotella products impact the DPF by providing a clean engine with minimal piston deposits and thereby reducing the amount of ash that makes its way into the DPF.”. Chevron’s Booth touts the company’s recently released Delo 600 ADF, which drops the amount of ash in the oil from 1% to 0.4%—a 60% decrease.

T6 Pro. 9 Jul 2023. #15. Had my dpf removed about 6 weeks ago. Reason, was seeing a lot of reports of failures and damaged engines. Cost about £400 labour and blanking off. Result is quicker, and fuel economy up from 30-32 to 39-45. So will recover the cost in about 2 years at my annual mileage.

Just came back from the dealer for a CEL lighting up. New DPF ordered under the emissions settlement will be paid for by VW. I have no idea why a Dpf won't regen properly, but VW is taking care of the issue. Car has 31 k miles on the clock. Crazy. These emission systems are too dam complicated to be reliable.
What is DPF regeneration? All filters need to be cleaned regardless of what they are designed to collect. That is also the case with the Diesel Particulate Filter. The cleaning process of that filter is called DPF regeneration. This regeneration makes sure the filter does not get blocked by burning off the soot that has been collected.

This usually means that the DPF is clogged. However, it can also indicate an electronic problem. Good to know, not every car has a particulate filter light. If your car does not have a particulate filter light, the engine management light will illuminate if there is a clogged diesel particulate filter. You can also notice how the car drives.
